Wuhan
Wuhan is one of the most significant cities in China, both historically and currently. Wuhan is where the Qing Dynasty was birthed in 1644. It’s 2000 year lifespan can be traced back to 476 B.C. and the Warring States Period. Because the city is so old and so significant culturally to China, you can find really great relics and landmarks. The Wuhan Imperial Palace, the Fulling Tomb and the Zhaoling Tomb are all great structures that can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty.
More recently, Wuhan has hosted the International Horticultural Exposition in 2006 and will welcome the Beijing Olympic Games, in 2008. Wuhan will be the place where all of the soccer matches will be played.
Wuhan, is the biggest city in Northeastern China, and is a part of the Liaoning Province. In fact, it is central to the province’s economy, culture and politics. Located in the middle of the Province, the city enjoys a dry climate with lots of rain in the summer and very cold winters.
Wuhan is not only a major Chinese city, it is also home to one of the major natural wonders of the world. This wonder is called the Guaipo and is a 88 yard slope that seemingly defies gravity. Pedestrians, vehicles and bicycle riders have to accelerate to go down hill, but roll up to the top of the hill with ease. Gravity is seemingly reversed.
Sheyang also is rich with resources and it is a great tourist town. It has abundant lodging, recreational activities, and restaurants for travelers. While many of these accommodations are highly rated, they can be expensive, and as an alternative , individuals are welcome to stay at smaller and cheaper hostels or even at local universities. There are also many fun things to do in the city. Karaoke bars are popular as are tea house, and local pubs.
